Yelp Reveals the 100 Best Places to Eat in 2025

You deserve all the best things. And that includes what you eat. That's why it's time to start working your way down Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat list for 2025. The website released its annual list, which, this year, includes spots in “some of the most unexpected places.”

“As restaurant owners across America concoct award-winning dishes in unconventional settings, Yelp reviewers are eagerly voting them up, both at home and on their travels,” Yelp shared about its list, which it says is compiled via a combination of community submissions and proprietary data prioritizing both the rating and volume of reviews.

According to the team, several trends emerged from this year's winning list, including diner's love for casual eats at affordable prices — with 80 percent of the businesses on the list priced at under $30 per person. It added that no restaurants at the “$$$$” level made it to the 2025 list. Yelp also noted that eco-friendly dining made a real splash, as did Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, which took over many of the top 10 spots.

However, the No. 1 pick went to a spot with distinctly Mexican flair: Holbox, a Michelin-rated restaurant in Los Angeles. 

“Exceptional cuisine can come from anywhere,” Gilberto Cetina, the chef and owner of Holbox, added in the release. The casual Mexican eatery, Yelp noted, is a “continually rising star among Yelp diners — it boasts 1,000-plus 5-star reviews and has appeared on our lists of Top 100 Seafood Spots 2024 (No. 3), and Top 20 Ceviche Spots 2024 (No. 1), and Best Seafood in Every State.”

While the restaurant boasts many impressive dishes, the best way to go about it is its tasting menu, so you can get a little bit of everything. “Our approachable flavors, accessible price point, and vibrant location create a full dining experience,” Cetina added. 

Also at the top of the list is Twisted Gyros out of Hillsboro, Oregon, in second, which Yelpers say has “heavenly” whipped feta. “If I could give 6 stars, I would,” one reviewer noted. Every detail of their new brick-and-mortar is immaculate. It's obvious the owners deeply care about their establishment and, more than anything, the satisfaction of their guests. The garlic sauce was honestly the best I've ever had. I am floored! I appreciate that they offer their meals in your choice of pitas, bowls, or salads.”

In No. 3 is De Babel in Scottsdale, Arizona, which serves Middle Eastern cuisine that owner Marwan Kandeel says is “made with the same love and care as it was for generations in our homeland.”

Phonomenal, in National City, California, is No. 4. It is known for its Cambodian-style pho and its “unique, slightly sweet” broth.

Rounding out the top five is Chellas Arepa Kitchen in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a food truck that people love for its Latin American arepas. “What a spot. Tucked behind a Costco lot you'll find the little Chellas food truck, but they're pumping out some big eats,” one reviewer noted. “These servings were huge! We were blown away by how flavorful everything was.” Ready to see who else made the list?
