Tom Holland’s New Short Cut is so George Clooney in 1995

The year was 1995—actor George Clooney was starring as Douglas Ross, M.D., on NBC’s hit show E.R., and future actor Tom Holland was yet to be born (though it would happen in June of 1996). Now, in 2024, the actors are coming together over a singular hairstyle: The Caesar Cut.

When Clooney rocked the tightly shorn crop in the nineties, it was the cut he had while he rose to both acting and heartthrob fame. Consider the Ceaser the male equivalent of Jennifer Aniston’s “The Rachel” during that time.

Holland just recently debuted his haircut, and while we’re likening it to the Roman statesman (the style is named after the style Julius Caesar was believed to have during his life), likely he’d prefer you call it “The Romeo.” And no, we’re not calling it that because of his incredibly adorable relationship with fellow actor Zendaya, but because he’s portraying one-half of the doomed young lovers in a London-based adaptation of “Romeo and Juliet” through August 3rd.
