This Beach Was Named the Best in Asia — and It Has Some of the Bluest Waters You’ll Ever See

This story is your sign that it’s time to finally book that dreamy beach vacation to somewhere warm, tropical, and with water so blue you won’t believe your eyes. And if you need an idea of exactly where to go, the World’s 50 Best Beaches list is highlighting a particularly spectacular spot in Asia you need to see.

Each year, the experts behind the World’s 50 Best Beaches list compile and share their selection of the best beaches you’ll find anywhere on the planet. However, picking the exact spots is no easy feat.

The team explained that its selection process begins by reaching out to “thousands of the world’s most experienced travel professionals and asking  them to vote for what they think is the best beach on earth.” The experts are not given any specific criteria but rather are asked to provide feedback on why they believe their selections are the best.

The “final list is not based purely on votes cast,” the team explained. “The number of votes a beach receives is a contributing factor to its appearance on our list as well as its ranking. In order to be included in our annual list, a beach must receive at least one vote.”

The 50 Best Beaches internal team reviews the submissions and debates each selection before deciding the final rankings, which, this time, are based on specific criteria, including each destination’s uniqueness, the surrounding wildlife, its ease of access to the water, how many people frequent the beach, and the “Soundtrack of Nature,” aka “at this beach, the only thing you will hear are the sounds of the ocean and nature.”

After looking at all this information, it named Entalula Beach in Palawan, Philippines, as the No. 4 best beach in the world — and the best beach in Asia.

“Loved for its amazing seclusion, Entalula Beach impresses with its striking limestone cliffs that provide a stunning and dramatic backdrop to its white, sandy shores,” the team wrote about its selection. It noted that this particular stretch of sand is less frequented by tourists, so you may be able to find more space to spread out. (Though likely not for long after making its way onto this list.) The water, it added, “is remarkably clear, providing excellent conditions for both swimming and snorkeling, where visitors can explore vibrant coral reefs just a short swim from the shore.”

There is, however, one catch: it’s only accessible by boat, which the team noted “adds an element of adventure and exclusivity to any visit. Its striking natural features and tranquil atmosphere make it a coveted spot for relaxation and appreciating nature.”

As for other spots to make the global list, Trunk Bay in the Virgin Islands took the top spot, followed by Cala Mariolu in Italy and Meads Bay in Anguilla. Just behind Entalula Beach is Voutoumi Beach in Greece, rounding out the top five.
