The Mountain Dew Infinite Swirl Slurpee Is Back at 7-Eleven

7-Eleven is throwing a birthday party, and you're all invited. 

On Tuesday, the convenience chain announced the return of its annual birthday celebration, held (when else) on Friday, July 11. This year, for its 98th birthday, we're the ones getting a present in the form of a free small Slurpee at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes locations across the United States.

But this isn't just any ordinary Slurpee experience. The brand is launching its “Tongue-toos,” inspired by the drink's ability to turn your tongue whatever color of beverage you've chosen. The “Tongue-toos,” the brand says, are a “first-of-its-kind temporary tongue tattoo activated by Slurpee.” All you need to do is sip your Slurpee, apply the tattoo directly onto your tongue, and wait for the “big reveal” of the brand's signature “S” to appear in four shades: blue, green, red, and purple.

“This Slurpee Day, we’re mixing things up with new flavors, our celebratory swag, and even a twist designed to mark tastebuds in the coolest way possible,” Marissa Jarratt, the executive vice president and chief marketing sustainability officer at 7-Eleven, shared. “We love finding new ways to amp up the Slurpee drink experience and creating lasting moments for our customers, on Slurpee Day and all year round.”

Just make sure you're signed up as a 7Rewards or Speedy Rewards member before the celebration so you can snag your tongue-toos on Slurpee Day.

The chain also announced it's bringing back the beloved Mountain Dew Infinite Swirl flavor, which will be available in Big Gulp form for the first time, as well as in Slurpee form and 20-ounce bottles.

Beyond all that, 7-Eleven is offering two more ways to get in on the party: Loyalty members can scan their rewards information on Slurpee Day to get a coupon for a second free small Slurpee that they can redeem anytime before July 31, and everyone can pick up a little 7-Eleven gear from the 7Collection to show their deep and genuine love for on-the-go service.

Oh, and one more thing: 7-Eleven wants to give you $5,000. As part of the party, it's offering customers the chance to win $5,000 every day through its 7-Eleven and Speedway apps. You must be a rewards member to enter, as you will also need to scan your rewards app and play the in-app game for your shot at the prize. But it would be nice to have a little more Slurpee money in your pocket, right?
