The 2025 Oscars red carpet is officially underway at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. The 97th Academy Awards have been nothing short of buzzy since Conan O’Brien was announced as the evening’s host. Indeed, it promises to be a tight race in many of the major categories where no apparent frontrunners have emerged. Heading into the night, Emilia Pérez leads with 13 nominations, while The Brutalist and Wicked trail with 10 each.
While we don’t know who will walk away with the golden statuettes, we can expect a night of high glamour from nominees. Anora star Mikey Madison has become this season’s fashion darling, while Demi Moore has used fashion to nod to her character in The Substance. Wicked co-stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande have also produced high-fashion homages to their characters in everything from prize vintage to custom couture. The men have also represented on the fashion front, with the ever-stylish Colman Domingo and the singular Jeremy Strong among the nominees.
The Academy Awards is known to be a relatively safe red carpet. But as the curtain falls on a particularly chaotic awards season we wonder if the red carpet follow suit.
