Southwest’s Fourth of July Sale Has Flights Starting at $59

Fourth of July weekend is here, and Southwest Airlines has launched its latest fare sale to celebrate the holiday.

“Independence YAY sale,” the airline shared about the promotion on its website. “One-way as low as $59 or 3,800 Rapid Rewards points.”

The sale, which ends Monday, July 8, at 11:59 p.m. PT, has discounted tickets on Southwest’s website. The available travel dates will depend on where you’re headed. For instance, flights within the continental U.S. can be booked for travel between Aug. 6 and Dec. 18, while flights to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international destinations can be booked for travel between Aug. 20 and Dec. 17.

However, Southwest has noted a few blackout dates that are part of this promotion:

  • Continental U.S. flights: Sept. 2, Oct. 14, Nov. 22 to 27, and Nov. 29 to Dec. 2
  • Flights from Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international destinations: Sept. 3 and Dec. 3
  • Intra-island Hawaii flights: Sept. 3

Travel + Leisure found the best one-way deals in its “Wanna Get Away” fare class starting at the $59 rate:

  • Nashville (BNA) to/from Chicago-Midway (MDW): $59 or 3,800 points
  • Maui (OGG) to/from Honolulu (HNL): $59 or 3,800 points
