Alysson Muotri, a professor on the College of California, San Diego and director of the Stem Cell program, pushes the boundaries of neuroscience analysis. He builds brains for a dwelling, then sends them on missions to outer area. Motivated by curiosity and creativity, his work is advancing scientists’ understanding of mind growth and ageing.
