During the Global Millets (Shree Anna) conference, held at Subramanian Hall in New Delhi on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the inclusion of millet in the ‘One District One Product’ scheme, which will be implemented in 19 districts across the country. India has been actively promoting the production of millets, which can be cultivated in harsh climatic conditions and does not require chemical fertilizers.
