OXO’s No. 1 Bestselling Salad Spinner at Amazon

When the flowers start blooming and the weather warms up, I can only think about one thing: fresh produce. I fill my tote bag with ripe strawberries and gooseberries at my local farmers market, buy pounds of dirty lettuce for salads, and regularly consume my weight in crispy radishes as a pre-dinner snack. Come spring and summer, almost everything I eat is muddy, buggy, and unbelievably delicious.

For years, I’ve relied on a stainless steel colander to cradle my farmers market goodies while giving them a thorough rinse, but this season I’ve promised myself an upgrade in the form of a salad spinner — specifically, the OXO Good Grips salad spinner. Why? Because it’s the No. 1 bestselling model at Amazon with over 34,000 five-star ratings and a $30 price tag. In truth, there’s no other brand I would even consider buying, since the OXO tools I already own are some of the most durable and long-lasting gadgets currently in my kitchen.

Unlike the simple colander I’ve used for the past decade, OXO’s salad spinner can clean and dry greens, herbs, and berries. It has a generous capacity of 6.22 quarts, which is large enough to fit multiple heads of lettuce leaves, but not so large that it becomes impossible to store in my tiny kitchen. I’m leaning toward the plastic bowl, but the brand also has models made of stainless steel and glass. Plastic is the most affordable, stainless steel is the most durable, and glass is the most beautiful, but they all won over Food & Wine editors during testing.

Amazon shoppers are likewise impressed by OXO’s salad spinner. One reviewer called it “a game-changer” in their kitchen because of its “smooth and efficient” spinning mechanism. (It removed excess water from their greens “in seconds.”) “No more watery salads,” raved a second shopper, while a third promised that yours will “work wonderfully” after their last OXO spinner lasted 20 years before it was retired.

Well, I’m convinced. I can already picture myself spinning away, no longer patting each leaf of lettuce dry before dressing it. I can’t even imagine what I’ll do with all the extra free time I’m about to have. Maybe a nice post-dinner walk?
