I’m Watching ‘The Bear’ Very Closely, and These Are My Favorite Plates and Bowls I’ve Seen in Season 3

When I’m watching The Bear, I feel like a private eye, checking the labels and logos on every apron and shirt and trying to scope the spines of every single cookbook that comes across the screen. Heading into Season 3, as the show takes a decidedly fine dining turn, I’ve got my remote in hand, ready to hit pause at a second’s notice when I see something cool. Because despite the fact that my kitchen is truly overflowing with plates and bowls, that never stops me from wanting to smash that “add to cart” button when I see something especially great. 

Unfortunately for my teeming kitchen cabinets, I’ve seen something great. Between the two trailers for The Bear’s new season, I tracked multiple pieces of stunning dinnerware from Jono Pandolfi Designs, a New Jersey-based studio that creates plates, bowls, serving pieces, and more for restaurants across the country. Used in the show’s eponymous dining room are items from multiple Jono Pandolfi lines, including The Coupe Collection and The Square-Sided Collection. And while I do trust my eye for these things, I was glad to see that Jono Pandolfi confirmed via Instagram that its designs are, indeed, used in the show.

The Coupe Collection features more relaxed, rustic, sloped pieces. The 5.75-inch coupe bread plate seems to be one of the items used in the show, as does the 3.75-inch coupe fry bowl (though the characters argue about two bowls that look nearly the same, so we may be seeing the 2.5-inch coupe condiment bowl in the scene as well). The 8-inch pasta bowl appears to pop up, too, and it’s an absolute stunner — Jono Pandolfi says it’s the company’s best-selling product — that might find its way into my apartment very soon.

From The Square-Sided Collection, the 10.5-inch entree plate looks to also be in the show. This piece feels a bit more modern, with a vertical rim that allows for a meal packed with different dishes and sauces.
