If you haven’t already seen, people are dressing like Ina Garten all over TikTok, and we can’t get enough. Aside from being a style icon, Ina is loved by many for her simple and delicious recipes, her home kitchen and dinner party hacks, her popular series of cookbooks, her memoir, Be Ready When the Luck Happens, and, of course, her love for her husband, Jeffrey. ‘Garten Parties’ are all the summer rage, so we decided to put together a list of essentials so you can look just like the Barefoot Contessa.

Old Navy Oversized Button-Down Boyfriend Shirt, Denim
Old Navy
To rock the quintessential Ina Garten look, it doesn’t take much more than a button-down denim shirt to do the trick. In an interview with actress and comedian Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who said that “her signature bob and blue shirt are as iconic as her roasted chicken,” Ina shared that her signature look comes from custom-made Talbots shirts.
What makes Ina so lovable is that you don’t ever see her in an apron, hat, or any clothes that resemble those of a commercial kitchen. Instead, she’s trademarked her own simple uniform, staying true to her at-home brand. “I don’t like wearing an apron when I’m working, so I find a denim shirt or a corduroy shirt and I buy 25 of them,” she shared in an interview. “It’s like a uniform, and I don’t have to worry about it.” For an even more affordable option, we found another Talbots look-alike at Amazon for only $20.

If the Barefoot Contessa herself says that she has not one, but two favorite kinds of shirts, we, of course, have to include both in our lookbook. A scroll on her Instagram (@inagarten) reveals that she’s recently been loving black corduroy, especially during the cooler months. “I have them in corduroy for the winter, and I have them in denim and chambray for the summer,” Ina said, giving us a closer look into her custom Talbots collection. If you want to emulate a wintery, cozy Ina in the summer, we found a more breathable version of her choice black shirt on sale at Gap for $35.
Loft Pleated Tapered Pants in Crepe
LOFT
In the rare instances where we see the part of Ina that exists underneath the counter of her kitchen island, she’s almost always wearing classy black trousers, and to no surprise — the pants look good with everything. Any black pants will do, but the ones we found taper and hit right at the ankle, which seems to be Ina’s favorite cut. If there’s a Garten party on the horizon, be sure to grab these comparable pants while they’re on sale at Loft for 50% off.

Even though Ina has said that she faithfully sports her Merrell clogs in the kitchen, she “lives in loafers” when she’s anywhere else. “They make great slippers, but I also wear them to weddings,” she said. We wouldn’t expect anything less from the queen of essentials.
Starwhisper Satin Head Scarf
Amazon
It wouldn’t be an Ina Garten-style catalog without a scarf or two. While the actual scarf that she wears on the cover of her memoir, Be Ready When the Luck Happens, is a mystery, we found one that rings pretty darn close. TikToker and scarf expert Abigail Goodman (@abigail_goodman) has a series of videos where she hunts down Ina’s scarves and explains how to fold your scarves like hers using the bias fold.
Glory Max Scarf, Light Blue
Amazon
Ina sports a luxurious Loro Piana scarf on the cover of a New York Times interview, where she delves into her memoir, discussing how she met her fan-loved husband Jeffrey, her lamentable childhood, and her path to culinary fame. If you want to don this look for a more affordable price, this similar-looking light blue scarf is only $19.
Werd Short Brown Bob Wig with Bangs
Amazon
You thought we were going to let you go to an Ina Garten-themed party without the most important piece? No need to chop your hair (or grow it out) to emulate the Barefoot Contessa — as Ina always says, “store-bought is fine.” This brunette bob wig — with perfectly primped bangs, of course — is the cherry on top for any Ina Garten look-alike.
