Fly Sem-private JSX for the Holidays for Less Than $300 — Here’s How
Booking flights with a semi-private air carrier might be more affordable than you think this holiday season.
Dallas-based JSX, a regional air carrier, offers up to 100 public charter flights each day across the U.S., Mexico, and the Bahamas. Officially classified as a public charter jet service, JSX operates a fleet of 50 Embraer ERJ aircraft. And a number of its routes are currently on sale.
With just 30 seats onboard a JSX aircraft, passengers can avoid crowded airports by flying out of private terminals and arriving just 20 minutes before departure. Along with amenities like two free checked bags and complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi, snacks, and beverages, travelers may be surprised to learn that flights come at a reasonable price tag, even during the peak holiday season.
“JSX is paving a new way forward offering the public many of the perks of flying private, readily accessible, and attainable for today’s modern traveler,” JSX shared in a statement with T+L. “The hop-on air carrier is the ultimate holiday travel solution that side steps the crowds, airport dwell times, and prohibitive and costly membership fees typically associated with private jet travel.”
Travel + Leisure searched through JSX’s routes — including seasonal flights starting for winter — to find the best one-way deals for travel through Thanksgiving and the December holidays:
- Reno (RNO) to/from Orange County (SNA): $209
- Dallas (DAL) to/from Houston (HOU): $249
- Burbank (BUR) to/from Las Vegas (LAS): $274
- Salt Lake City (SLC) to/from Scottsdale (SCF): $309
For example, a comparable flight from Salt Lake City to Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) costs $212 in Main Cabin on American Airlines or Delta Air Lines on the Sunday before Christmas. Travelers bound for the Phoenix area can pay less than $100 to book a JSX flight, enjoying the added convenience of flying from dedicated hangars with fewer crowds.
Later this month, JSX will restart flights along the East Coast, offering service between Morristown Airport (MMU) in New Jersey and Westchester County Airport (HPN) to West Palm Beach (PBI) and Naples Municipal Airport (APF).
