– Deputy Prime
Minister Tran Hong Ha received visiting Lao Minister of Technology and
Communications Boviengkham Vongdara in Hanoi on May 29.

Welcoming agreements signed between the Vietnam
Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and the Lao Ministry of Technology and
Communications, Ha expressed his wish that the two sides will actively promote
cooperation and technology transfer so that Vietnam and Laos can jointly

– A delegation of the
Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee held talks with
representatives from the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the
Development of Cambodian Motherland in Hanoi on May 29.

At the talks, Vice President and Secretary General
of the VFF Central Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha affirmed the fruitful relations

– Agro-forestry-aquatic
product exports were estimated at 20.26 billion USD in the first five months of
2023, down 11.1% year on year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and
Rural Development (MARD).
Meanwhile, the country’s imports also dropped 8.7%
to 13.15 billion USD, resulting in a five-month trade surplus of 3.55

– The Civil Aviation
Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) will pilot the use of level-2 electronic
identification (eID) authentication for air passengers at airports nationwide
from June 1 to August 1, it said in its recent report sent to the Ministry of
Transport.
The level 2 account is created in case the
information of the declarant has been verified by a portrait photo or a
fingerprint that matches the information recorded in the country’s
databases on population, citizen identity, or immigration. Read full story

Vietnam NASA Space Week will be held in Ho Chi Minh City and Hau Giang and Binh
Dinh provinces in the South from June 5-9, heard a press conference on May 29.
The event will be co-organised by the People’s
Committees of Hau Giang province, Thu Duc city (HCM City), and Binh Dinh
province, and the HCM City Computer Association, with the support of the US

students won the third prize in the Cloud Track category of the Huawei ICT
Competition 2022-2023 Global Final held in China’s Shenzhen city, the Ministry
of Information and Communications announced on May 29.

The team members included Nguyen Quoc Hung from
the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), Tran Duc Lam
and Vu Quang Hai from FPT University, under the guidance of Dr. Tran Tien Cong

computers in Vietnam have suffered data encryption since December 2022,
according to Bkav – a leading Vietnamese technology corporation that
specialises in cyber security and software.
The corporation’s Technical Support Centre has
also received hundreds of calls, asking for assistance in handling data
